While SPF 6 is too low for my face and chest I’m glad Clarins still makes a self tanner with a relatively low SPF and hasn’t fallen in with the rest of the crowd that would have you totally blocked. For me, this is perfect for my arms and legs and even my stomach which for some reason doesn’t burn easily. Clarins Tanning Milk does have a milky texture. It goes on easily and it stays on as long as you don’t go in the water. Even though it’s light it seems to have moisturizers in it because my skin retains a healthy bronze glow and isn’t the least bit dry. You may say a bronze glow isn’t healthy and be right but I still like to get my body sunkissed and this allows me to do that while spending less time in the sun. For my skin the combination of a moderate SPF and a self tanner gives me the tan I want but I must stress it’s not enough for the face and chest. I only wish Clarins would bring back their self-tanner SPF 15 without the streaky tint for the face. Then I’d have the perfect combo.

This lotion is not for GUY… well most guys I presume. My GF ordered this Clarins Self Tanning Milk with 6 SPF Sun Protection thinking this lotion might be the best of both world solution to try out tanning product. Well we tried it out and the scent is intense and VERY feminine. You might need a nose clip or two if you are using this stuff inside. It gave us headache and had to wash the stuff off after about 3 hours (instruction say it takes 2 hours to work). There was mild stinging burning sensation but the tanning was very mild at best.
I’m sure this lotion is fine for someone who’s looking for this type of lotion and don’t mind this particular type of scent. And yes there is definite hint of that self-tanning smell but I think it is unavoidable as I believe that’s the smell of your skin reacting to self-tanning chemical. The self tanning smell is pretty mild compared to other self tanning products (samples) we’ve tried though.
If you can deal with the scent, repeated application might yield better tan but we wouldn’t know. My GF might try it out few more times when she’s not in the house or with nose clips for both of us.

I used this preseason to get a good start on my tan. Very natural looking and goes on easily. Easy to see while applying.
